Peter Healey has worked in the addiction and recovery field in different capacities for over twenty years. Born and raised in Manchester, England, Pete found himself battling his own addiction to alcohol throughout his teens and twenties. Eventually finding sobriety, Pete felt compelled to seek a career helping others also find recovery. With six years of college, culminating in a Masters Degree in Social Work, Pete worked for a renowned treatment facility, Broadway Lodge in Weston-super-Mare in the U.K. Upon meeting his wife, Rebecca, a US citizen, Pete eventually moved to Fenton, Michigan, where he currently lives.
With a continued career in substance abuse work, Pete worked for Oakland Family Services in Pontiac for two years before moving on to work for Brighton Hospital for ten years. In June 2012, Pete opened his own practice, Serenity Recovery Services, where he enjoys working and contributing to his hometown community.
Pete has three children and enjoys an active lifestyle, including gardening, running and weight training. He's very interested in the mind-body-spirit connection. He believes adamently in an individual's capacity to heal in all these life areas. He believes addiction to be a disease that is treatable.
